And how do I do that? :)
Like I said, I am a completely total newbie, and I can't seem to figure out how to change the ClassAD for a machine (I only understand how you can add new ClassAd attributes for a job in the submit file).
I tried, from what I understand, to set STARTD_NAME = MyName in the config.local file, but that doesn't seem to do what I want.
condor_status shows slot1@MyName@<FQDN> but if I type condor_status -l MyName I get an Unknown Host error.
I still have a LONG way to go to figure out all of Condor (and no, I will not be pestering you every five minutes, don't worry ð ) .
Thanks for your help,
Marwan

Hi Badawi,
you can set for a machine the "name" class ad, which is normally the
same as the machine FQDN but can be tuned to something else
https://htcondor.readthedocs.io/en/latest/classad-attributes/machine-classad-attributes.html
Cheers,
Thomas
