[HTCondor-users] CNCF batch system white-paper

Hi All,

The CNCF's Batch System Initiative <https://github.com/cncf/tag-runtime/blob/master/wg/bsi.md> is trying to write a whitepaper on the various batch systems that have some integration with or on-top-of Kubernetes. The purpose is to provide CTOs and system designers with a broad overview of the batch scheduling landscape in "Cloud." The draft so far is very cloud native focused but they are trying to include other software stacks as well.

Some of the questions being asked
  1. What is the level of Kubernetes integration?
    • Is there a k8s operator?
    • Can it run on multiple k8s clusters?
  2. What are the scheduling policy options?
    • Is gang scheduling available?
  3. Is there commercial support for the software?
Are there any other important points y'all believe are worth bringing up when recommending using HTCondor in/on kubernetes systems? File transfer, security, containerized daemons, and beers in Madison come to my mind, but additional thoughts are welcome. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mIhSTOa5bQWHY9oAIopzpy1w-hACm_ewe7fzMZ30Z6c

Cheers,
Matt
