Re: [HTCondor-users] Building HTCondor on ARM systems

So, then we have official binaries for you.

The repository definitions are here:

https://research.cs.wisc.edu/htcondor/repo/9.x/htcondor-release-current.el8.noarch.rpm

We also have tarballs:

Hi Tim,

The Isambard Tier2 site is primarily Marvell ThunderX2 but also a cabinet of A64FX from Fujitsu along with some x86 machines for comparison. This is all running on the Cray platform and using RHEL8 as its OS. Going forward I would be focusing on NVIDIA's ARM CPUs, also probably using RHEL (clone) as the base OS.

The clusters themselves use PBS Pro as a scheduler and are coming to EOL next year-ish. The A64FX has rather low utilization at the moment, so figured if anyone had any ARM testing they'd like to do, I could probably help out.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

We currently have a ARM support for AlmaLinux 8 (Power PC also). ARM
support on AlmaLinux 7 is coming soon.

What platforms are you interested in?

We don't have up to date build instructions. It is on my to-do list.

Hi All,

As an sysadmin member of the GW4 here in the UK, I have ready access
to a decent sized ARM tier-2 based here in Exeter at the Met Office.

Since ARM isn't explicitly supported, I would like to try my hand at
compiling HTCondor for the different ARM server architectures I have
access to. Is there an up-to-date instruction set on building the
packages from source in either the docs or the CHTC wiki?

Cheers,
Matt
