I agree with Igor, we cannot have all the wisdom of the design docs in
one basket or left up to Google's business whims.  But I think a local
backup archive would sufficiently mitigate this possibility.
Do you already have plans on how to restore the links, if Google ever
failed us?


If Google failed us, we could take the .doc files and attach them back to the tickets. That would at least put us back to where we are today.
