Dear Alexandra,

I hope you are doing well. I am wondering if you could help advertise theÂVerification Mentoring Workshop (VMW)Âthat I am co-organizing, by forwarding this email to your students and appropriate mailing lists at UCL and UW. This year things are online and free of charge, which allows many more students to participate.

Thanks a lot,
Jean-Baptiste

co-located (online) with CAV 2020
19-20 July 2020

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

We invite all undergraduateÂand graduate students interested in formal methods to register and participate in the Verification MentoringÂWokshopÂ(VMW), which will beÂhosted onlineÂon July 19th and July 20th.ÂTo participate, pleaseÂregister for CAVÂbefore July 10th, andÂselect "VMW -- Verification Mentoring Workshop"Âin the Workshops that you plan to attend. Registration is atÂhttps://forms.gle/YcTQNKe1yJjQn6BG6Âand free of charge.

ABOUTÂVMW

The purpose of the Verification Mentoring Workshop is to provide mentoring and career advice to early-stage graduate students and late-stage undergraduate students, and introduce them to research topics aligned with the CAV conference and, more generally, formal methods. The workshop particularly encourages participation of women and underrepresented minorities.

The program for VMW 2020 Âincludes a number of talks and interactive sessions. The technical talks will provide gentle introductions to several recurring research themes in CAV, while the mentoring talks will provide useful tips about how to do good research and how to communicate your research well. The program also includes a panel that will address a variety of topics such as work-life balance and career options.
