Re: [Condor-users] need help with condor hooks

Hi,
In my case, running the hook from the execution host is an option, but it would be more complicated to implement because of various reasons (related to our overall setup; not related to condor).

A scheduler-side hook would be fine too.  By CM I meant 'not on the execution host'.

Thanks!

What kind of strain would that put on a CM? Could be considerable for even a smaller pool if the job turnover rate is high. CM machines aren't not usually spec'ed to handle a high number of concurrent, condor-related threads. A scheduler-side hook, perhaps run by the Shadow, would seem to make more sense since these machines are expected to be doing a lot of condor-related concurrent processing.

Andre, why do you need it to run from the central manager specifically?

Greetings,
I would like to have an executable called on the condor central manager
when a job completes/finishes. In the Condor documentation, I found ways
to do that using hooks, but these hooks are called by the startd and
starter daemon on the resource that ran the job.

Does anyone know of a way to implement this on the central manager side?

Thanks a lot!

Short answer is there's no hook for that. But an RFE sounds like it
would have at least two users, likely a few dozen.

Best,
