Brcue--your input is valuable, thanks! I won't argue about 
condor_configure--it definitely has problems.

I think you're right about more user testing (if only we had the time to do 
so!) because in my experience I have found people very confused by 
condor_install.

One of the difficulties in writing an installation program for Condor is 
that there are different kinds of users (from clueless users that can't 
answer questinos about filesystem domains to advanced users like yourself), 
and very different kinds of setups. We have people installing a personal 
Condor on a single computer so they can do Condor-G jobs, people installing 
on a cluster with a shared filesystem, people installing on each machine in 
a cluster, etc. Figuring out how to make a single program do the trick in 
all cases is hard.

I think that the clueless users have a hard time with condor_install. It 
may not be much better with condor_configure, I'll admit.
