The latest GEMS 2.1 has support in Ruby for x86 (for non-LogTM simulations only), and fixed some bugs in the x86 support we released with GEMS 2.0.

The separate patch we have on the GEMS website is for an older version of GEMS that we no longer support.

as far as GEMS 2.0 supporting the patch:
I was not sure and did not see anywhere that gems2.0 did support x86, so i went
with a lower version of simics and gems for which the patch was originally
written but i also was under time pressure.
I think the authors of gems know for certain. Try also searching the archives
on this subject.

thanks,
I find the patch, It tell me I should reinstall the GEMS, I use the
GEMS2.0 and simics 3.0.31,but I want to know whether the patch is compatible
for GEMS2.0 and simics3.0.31,even whether the GEMS2.0 include the patch?

Ö÷Ì⣺ Re: [Gems-users] Hi,I have a question about GEMS

yes you can simulate x86, look for the x86 patch on the gems downloads
website
and follow instructions. You also might have to go with an older version of
simics... at least that's what i had to do.

Good luck,

Olya
