Subject: Docker pull rate issues
Hello CHTC users,

This message is for users who use Docker containers in their jobs or who build other containers based on a Docker container image.

Over the past few days, jobs requiring a Docker container may have encountered an error message related to pull rates. We have fixed the underlying issue and are monitoring the situation. However, jobs may still encounter this error intermittently as the cooldown period refreshes. If this occurs, please retry your job at a later time. You can check our status page for more information. https://status.chtc.wisc.edu/incidents/3zgh0c4mt4m5

To mitigate this issue, we are recommending users to convert Docker images into local Apptainer images. This ensures that users have a local copy of their software and environment. Please read this guide for more info on how to convert and use your Docker image in a job: https://chtc.cs.wisc.edu/uw-research-computing/htc-docker-to-apptainer

Best,
Your CHTC team
