FYI in case anyone is interested in attending.
---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Alisha Zachariah <rzachariah@xxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, Feb 27, 2018 at 10:51 AM Subject: Invitation to Data Science Student Workshop To: ifds-events@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx <ifds-events@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, ifds@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx <ifds@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: YILIN ZHANG <yilin.zhang@xxxxxxxx>, XUEZHOU ZHANG <xzhang784@xxxxxxxx>, Rebecca Willett <willett@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Dear IFDS grads and post-docs,
The Institute for Foundations of Data Science
(IFDS) here at UW Madison will hold our first IFDS Student Workshop on FridayÂApril 20, 2018.ÂThis should be a great opportunity for graduate students and post-docs fromÂMath,
Stats,
CS, and ECE to get to know about ongoing data science research in the intersection of these areas and find interdisciplinary collaborations.
The workshop will consist of invited talks, panel discussion, and poster presentations
(posters from previous conferences are welcome!). What makes it unique is that all presentationsÂare intended to be primarily by students.
If you are interested in attending, and/or presenting
your research, please register here.ÂThe
talk slots are expected to fill up quickly, as there will be presenters from all four departments. So if you want to take this opportunity to present your work, please RSVP as soon as possibleÂusing
the above form, along with the title and abstract of your talk.ÂNote that invitations to selected speakers will be sent out in the next
two weeks.Â
The webpage for the workshop is still under construction.ÂCheck this space for schedules, presentation slides, invited speakers, etc.
