Hi all,

The architecture group is meeting tomorrow (10/11) to discuss SOSP'13 paper titled, "From ARIES to MARS: Transaction Support for Next-Generation, Solid-State Drives". I thought some of you might be interested in participating in this discussion (details of time and location below).

Hello everyone

We will continue our discussion on non-volatile memories this week. Lena
Olson will lead the discussion. Instead of discussing another article
from the IEEE Computer magazine, we decided (Lena may disagree on the
'we' part!) on a paper from SOSP 2013 that talks about how
transaction-based systems take advantage of NVM technologies.

Another thing that everyone should note is the venue for the discussion.
We will be meeting in the Union South. Shoaib has reserved a room, which
it seems will be available for the reading group discussions for some
time to come (may be the entire semester).

Here are the details:

Title: From ARIES to MARS: Transaction Support for Next-Generation,
Solid-State Drives

Link: http://sigops.org/sosp/sosp13/papers/p197-coburn.pdf

Date: October 11, 2013

Time: 2 to 3 pm

Venue: First Nations (3rd Floor), Union South
