Microsoft is offering a free 3 hour security briefing on Wednesday
October 30th, from 8:30-11:30, in the Fluno Center Auditorium at 601
University Avenue. Preregistration is required; as of last week there
were still scores of seats available.
The topics were chosen with guidance from the UW-Madison NT
administrators, and will include:
Hardening Windows 2000 from security standpoint
Comparison of Windows XP and Windows 2000 security issues
security challenges posed by heterogeneous operating systems
Securing IIS
Demonstrating IP packet filtering under Windows 2000

The presenter will be Barbara Chung; a member of Microsoft's National
Technology Team. Her focus since 1998 has been Windows infrastructure,
including network, directory services and security. Her background
includes many years as an independent consultant in New York City
working primarily in the legal industry. Barbara holds a CISSP
certification (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
