Hi Christoph,

HTCondor does not rotate or delete any per job history files written to a directory specified by PER_JOB_HISTORY_DIR or JOB_EPOCH_HISTORY_DIR. The intention for these history files is for another program to digest and delete the files as needed.

Hi,

we recently upgraded to 24.0.1 but the problem seems to be older judging by the timestamps.

The files in job.history.d are not rotated (history.* and job.runs.*) on the AP.

I just crashed one with:

[Thu Nov 28 08:36:46 2024] EXT4-fs warning (device sda6): ext4_dx_add_entry:2549: Directory (ino: 1835062) index full, reach max htree level :2
[Thu Nov 28 08:36:46 2024] EXT4-fs warning (device sda6): ext4_dx_add_entry:2553: Large directory feature is not enabled on this filesystem

I do have the usual (old) history rotation config in place - are there any changes that need to be configured or is it a bug ?
