Hi,

this could be related to a firewall on your new ubuntu system, from the host where you execute condor_status: have you tried to use ping <central manager>, nmap <central manager> and telnet -p9618 <central manager> 

This might give you some hints what's wrong ...

Hi,

after an OS upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04 to 18.04, the condor_status 
command gives me following error message:
Error: communication error
SECMAN:2007:Failed to end classad message.

 From the log files I get the impression that there is sth. wrong with 
the network settings, which are as follows:

BIND_ALL_INTERFACES = true
NETWORK_INTERFACE = enp4s0f0  # this was eth0 in the old system
CONDOR_HOST = 10.8.0.1
PRIVATE_NETWORK_NAME = vpn
PRIVATE_NETWORK_INTERFACE = tun0

Any hints how to solve this issue?
CondorVersion: 8.6.8
OS: Ubuntu 18.04
