Any luck with that? I'm updating these jobs and have 9796 zero-byte
.blast.xml files in /var/tmp/bmrb/blast (the place where I ran
condor_submit_dag and where the dag file is) and 9796 non-zero-byte
.blast.xml files in /var/tmp/bmrb/blast/io

In the blast+.sub file:
transfer_output_remaps = "$(STDOUTFILE) = $(TMPDIR)/$(STDOUTFILE)"

In the .dag (wrap added): e.g.

JOB blast_1171 /condor/bmrbgrid/blast/blast+.sub
VARS blast_1171 TMPDIR="/var/tmp/bmrb/blast/io" \
 SRCFILE="/var/tmp/bmrb/blast/io/bmr1171.prot.fasta" \
 INFILE="bmr1171.prot.fasta" \
 STDOUTFILE="bmr1171.blast.xml" \
 STDERRFILE="blast_1171.stderr"
