Gary,

What we do is to define a ClusterName on each of the worker nodes, e.g.

ClusterName = "dryrun"
STARTD_EXPRS = ClusterName, $(STARTD_EXPRS)

Then users can use ClusterName in submit files or to query the
collector. This makes management much easier when you get to the
several-hundred machine scale.
