If it's just a vanilla job, the run times should be approximately
identical with running it outside condor except for scheduling latency
(it can take a few minutes to start) and data transfer time (depends
on your network).
Does condor_status claim the job is in the running state (R), or did
it start then go back to idle? Looking at the logs on the master and
execute node will probably give strong hints as to what's wrong.

Well, I was running it in the Vanilla universe. I have a very basic
condor
system and am just getting started using it. I am an intern for a
company
and am experimenting with Condor. I have a batch file named
build_looks and
one named submit-build_looks. Build looks simply says start
build_looks.exe,
which is the program. The Job file runs build_looks through the
executable.
Like I said, I am very unfamiliar with Condor so if you need any more
information, do not hesitate to ask. Thanks

Can you provide details of how it was linked? Was it run in standard
universe etc?
Thanks.

this
