The -stopcompile option is passed to gcc when your SIMICS_VERSION flag in $GEMS/common/Makefile.simics_version isn't properly set. Have a look at that file and the available options for SIMICS_VERSION.

Hi,

I have encountered compilation failed when I first time to install GEMS. I
followed the GEMS wiki instructions and tried on both Solaris 10 and Ubuntu
7.10 platform. The simicis version I used is 3.0.30. g++ is 4.1. The error
message is "g++: unrecognized option '-stopcompile'". Could anybody give me
a help.

Cheers
Henry
