Hello Dan,

Sorry to bother, but could you tell me some detailed information about the
8-core Intel machine you are using? I am totally stuck about installing GEMS
on 64-bit system.
1. What's the OS on this machine?
CentOS v4
2. What's the gcc version on this machine? How was it configured? (could you
type "gcc -v" for me)
This is the compiler I still use:

clover-10(1)% /s/gcc-3.4.3/bin/gcc -v
Reading specs from /afs/cs.wisc.edu/s/gcc-3.4.3/amd64_tao10/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/3.4.3/specs Configured with: ../gcc-3.4.3/configure --prefix=/s/gcc-3.4.3/amd64_tao10 --enable-shared --enable-threads --with-picThread model: posix
gcc version 3.4.3

3. What are the versions of the related files, e.g. libgcc, etc.
Not sure because there are local libraries and then libraries installed on our AFS file system that are not specific to the OS

4. What's the Simics used with GEMS? (the version? for amd64-linux or
x86-linux?)

I'm personally using Simics 2.0.x and Simics 2.2.x. Not sure exactly which one
