So after a replacement in L2 how does it notify the global directory? In
my
configuration I have 4 processors, each on a single chip. After a
processor
evicts a line from its L2, it has to invalidate the global directory to
change the state of this entry from S/M to I, right? I guess this was the
question I intended to ask in the first post, sorry for the confusion.


The L2 controller issues a PUT request.
