Thanks for your reply, Hongxia. I've already tried printing in ruby_operate but I was concerned that printing in ruby_operate could somehow affect Ruby counters. I guess it won't be a problem. You can print directly in ruby_operate for special memory transition you want. Also, you can add a profile function in profiler and call it in mh_memorytracer_possible_cache_miss(GEMS/ruby/simics/command.C).
