Hi hongxia:
Thanks for your reply. But magic instructions
wouldn't really help here because I want to start to
have a trace after 850,000 ruby cycles to enable me to
debug my protocol. The benchmark that I run is a very
small and I just do a repetition of a particular
function.
Regards
James

You can set a magic instruction to start ruby trace
as you want. There are
many discussions about how to set magic instruction
in GEMS user list.

Hi all:
I know that ruby can output a trace by setting
ruby0.tracer-output-file filename. But is there
any
way to make this output start after a certain ruby
cycle or time?

James
