You will want to go back to API_2.0...the valid options recognized by simics are API_1.0, API_2.0, and (for Simics 3.0) API_3.0

Hi,
I am using simics2.2 and gems 1.2 on a solaris machine
With all the help from this list (especially mike), the make went further,
but failed with
"wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32"
I was using -m64 for compilation as well as linking. I removed the
switches, and it went even further.

Now, its failing with:
=== Building module "ruby" ===
Linking ruby.so
/usr/pubsw/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/pubsw/lib/libz.so when
searching for -lz
/usr/pubsw/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/pubsw/lib/libz.a when
searching for -lz
/afs/ir.stanford.edu/users/r/j/rjain/ee382a_project/GEMS/simics-2.2.19/v9-sol8-64/bin/libsimics-common.so:
file not recognized: File format not recognized
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Should I used simics2.0 instead of 2.2 (by the way, I changed the step 5
in setup guide :
ruby | API_2.2 | v9
opal | API_2.2 | v9

let me know if this change is alright, or do i need to go back to API_2.0

thanks again for your help
