                             2026 Scalable Tools Workshop

You are invited to attend the 2026 edition of the Scalable Tools
Workshop. The workshop will be a 3.5 day event to be held July 26-30
in Madison, Wisconsin, on the University of Wisconsin campus in our
beautiful new Morgridge Hall building.

This meeting is attended by tool researchers and developers to discuss
common interests and work to advance the state of the art in tools for
high performance computing. The organization of this year's workshop will
be like that of prior years. For the benefit of those of you who have not
attended in the past, this is a working workshop that aims to foster
exchange of ideas and catalyze collaboration with colleagues in the field.
This year, we encourage discussion of the confluence of tools for HPC and
high performance AI.

The schedule for the workshop will include a balance between attendee
presentations and working groups focused on topics of interest. Working
groups can include joint work on a piece of software, exchange of
information to address immediate needs, work to develop a standard,
discussion of opportunities for collaboration, tutorial sessions, or
brainstorming about how to address challenges ahead.

We will be meeting in Madison. Uncertainties about funding and travel made
it difficult to sign a contract with Granlibakken, but we have a great new
facility and Madison is a beautiful destination in the summer.

If you are familiar with the workshop, registration will work differently
this year. You will register separately for the meeting (which includes
meeting fee, breaks, lunches, and a welcome reception dinner on Sunday
evening). The registration fee will be $350. Registration closes three
weeks before the workshop. Though if you are giving a talk, you must be
register at the time we approve the talk.

Hotel accommodations will be at the nearby Hampton Inn, with special event
rate of $164/night. (The hotel rate include breakfast.) Note that the room
block is only reserved for us until June 27. Madison is a very popular
destination in the summer so make sure to reserve before this date!

If you want to make a presentation, you need to send us email with your
proposed title and abstract. Attendees are not required to make a
presentation, but you are encouraged to do so. There are a limited number
of presentation slots.

All the relevant details can be found on the meeting meeting website:

  https://paradyn.org/petascale2026

Click on the "Registration" tab to register for the workshop and "Lodging"
to make your hotel reservations.

Once we have an initial attendee list, we will solicit topics for working
groups and (as in prior years) select the final topics at the meeting after
assessing attendee interests. If you and another participant want to
collaborate on any related topic, this is the place you can do it.

This workshop is an open event. You are welcome to pass along this invitation
to colleagues that you think would benefit from attending the workshop. If you
send me additional email addresses, we will make sure that these folks get
updates from us. Note that we use this mailing list ONLY for this workshop
and do not share it with any other group or organization.

Looking forward to seeing you in Madison.

best,

PS: The Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region is a pretty incredible place.
In a future message, we will be including information about things you
might do in the area if you want to spend a bit more time here.
