Downtime tomorrow (4/30); new limits on HTC access points

Hello CHTC users, 

This email is for users who log into ap2001 and ap2002 to access our high throughput computing (HTC) system. 

The access points ap2001 and ap2002 will be offline for maintenance tomorrow (April 30). For updates, see the CHTC Status Page.

We are placing new limits on access points ap2001 and ap2002: 

• As of Apr 29, all user login sessions have memory (RAM) limits. 

• After the maintenance, quotas will be set on the system "/tmp" directory. 

Please contact us if the new limits cause problems that prevent you from using certain tools or managing your workloads as before.

Why are we making these changes? We want to enable everyone's work! The goal of these limits are to keep access points running smoothly, especially as more people use LLM agents to support their work. We appreciate your patience as we find the balance of capabilities that allows everyone to get their work done.
