HPC Cluster Operating System Transition - Test Jobs!!

Greetings CHTC users, 

 

This message is for users of our HPC cluster. 

 

As previously announced, the operating system on our HPC cluster is upgrading from CentOS Stream 8 to CentOS Stream 9. 

 

As of May 31, users can log into a new login node and submit jobs to the worker nodes that have been transitioned to CentOS Stream 9. Details on where to log in and what steps to take are described in this guide: https://chtc.cs.wisc.edu/uw-research-computing/hpc-el8-to-el9 

 

We anticipate transition of most nodes to CentOS Stream 9 by June 17. Please make plans to rebuild your software and run test jobs within the next week or so, and communicate with us immediately at chtc@xxxxxxxxxxx if you have upcoming deadlines or other circumstances that will require additional support.
