Subject: [Chtc-users] Update on SQUID proxy for HTC large files
Greetings CHTC users,Â

This is an update on the SQUID proxy for large files on the high throughput (HTC) system in CHTC. If you don't use SQUID as part of running jobs, you can disregard this email.Â

For those users who use SQUID within their jobs: The SQUID proxy is currently available, but with the possibility that it will fail again. Our systems administrators are transitioning to a new, stable version of the SQUID proxy that will be available by tomorrow afternoon. Â
In the meantime, it is possible to submit jobs to the HTC system that use SQUID. ÂHowever, users should only do so if they are willing to handle the job failures that may result from another unanticipated SQUID proxy failure. If you're not sure, wait until tomorrow to submit jobs that depend on SQUID.Â

We will send another email update tomorrow to indicate when we have transitioned to the new version of the SQUID proxy, and all jobs can be submitted without concern. Â

Thanks again for your patience. Â
