Job Duties: This position will report to the head of Computer-Aided
Engineering (CAE) and provide technical and computing resources to
support the
teaching and research mission of the Department of Industrial
Engineering (IE), including the Consortium for Global Electronic
Commerce (CGEC) and
the Biomedical Engineering Department (BME). The person in this
position works independently, under general supervision, with
coordination from
CAE to insure compliance with the mission and strategic plan of the
IE, including the CGEC, and BME.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of computer hardware,
software, Windows, Linux, desktop software packages including
Microsoft Word,
Excel and Access, server software for email, web, and file-sharing,
operation and maintenance of Local Area Networks, setup, operation,

maintenance of networked desktop and laptop computers in a NetWare
and Linux environment, and computer peripheral equipment including
printers,
monitors, scanners, and CD-RW drives; principles and methods for
providing problem identification and resolution services to
microcomputer users, use
of problem tracking systems such as a Request Tracker (RT), skill in
interpersonal relations; and written and oral communications.
