For a personal HTCondor:

  • the tokens directory should only be writable by the user (preferred permission 0700)
  • the tokens should only be readable by the readable by the user (preferred permission 0600)

What are the permission requirements for a users $HOME/.conodr/tokens.d/ directory?

The HTCondor team is pleased to announce the release of HTCondor 23.8.1.
This release contains all of the changes from the 23.0.12 LTS release.

NOTE: IDTOKEN files with permissive file protections are now ignored.
In particular, the /etc/condor/tokens.d directory and the tokens contained
within should be only accessible by the root account.

Highlights of this release are:
- Add new condor-ap package to facilitate Access Point installation
- HTCondor Docker images are now based on Alma Linux 9
- HTCondor Docker images are now available for the arm64 CPU architecture
- The user can now choose which submit method DAGMan will use
- Can add custom attributes to the User ClassAd with condor_qusers -edit
- Add use-projection option to condor_gangliad to reduce memory footprint
- Fix bug where interactive submit does not work on cgroup v2 systems (EL9)
