The Condor Team is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Condor 6.9.5 for download from:

http://www.cs.wisc.edu/condor/downloads

-----

Condor 6.9.5 contains all bug fixes from the 6.8.x stable series through the 6.8.7 release (due out tomorrow), and numerous bug fixes for problems introduced in the 6.9.x development series. In particular, a critical bug in 6.9.4 that could cause corruption of binary data files written by standard universe jobs is now fixed.

Users of Condor version 6.9.4 are urged to upgrade immediately. Users of the 6.8.x stable series should not upgrade until the next stable release is available.

Version 6.9.5 also adds several new features, including: scalability improvements, updates between the starter and startd which allow more accurate job eviction policies, enhancements to Condor's privilege separation, and more.

Full details and a complete list of changes can be found in the Condor manual:

http://www.cs.wisc.edu/condor/manual/v6.9/8_3Development_Release.html

-----

The 6.9.5 release is considered by the Condor Team to be the first "release candidate" for the next stable release. Therefore, no new features will be added to the Condor 6.9.x development series at this point, only bug fixes will be included between now and the forthcoming 7.0.0 release.

If you have any support questions regarding this release, please contact condor-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Enjoy,
-- The Condor Team
