[condor-users] Who runs the Daemons

I just realized that I'm a bit confused about the documentation.

Section 3.2.3.2 suggests that running Condor as Root is generally best.
Section 3.2.3.4 seems to suggest that running Condor as user "condor" is
generally best.

A related issue:
I've created an account for user "condor" and installed Condor via RPM.
This sets the owner to the user "condor". When I try to change it to
"root", I get this error:

[root@nori condor-6.6.0]# ./condor_configure --owner=root
Invalid user: root
