AW: [condor-users] Transfer-File-Problems?

- Subject: AW: [condor-users] Transfer-File-Problems?
Hi again,
I think I found an indication why these transfer-file-problems occur.
The shadowlog says:
(...)
1/30 15:52:52 (31.0) (1816): Calling Perm::userInAce() for ytombaue\nwznet
1/30 15:52:52 (31.0) (1816): perm::UserInAce: Checking VORDEFINIERT\Users
1/30 15:52:52 (31.0) (1816): in perm::userInLocalGroup() looking at group
'Users'
1/30 15:52:52 (31.0) (1816): DoDownload: Permission denied to write file
C:\BATCH\fort.19!
(...)
The thing is, condor only looks directly at the group 'Users' for the
account ytombaue. But the account ytombaue is only member of the group
'Domain Members ' (residing in the Windows 2000 Active Directory) that in
turn is member of Users.
When I add my account ytombaue directly to the group 'Users' Condor has no
problems to execute my job.
Do you have a solution for this problem?
With kind regards,
Thomas Bauer

Hi Colin,
I just wanted to ask, if you found any hint in the log file relating to the
transfer-file-problem? I'm still not sure whether this is a condor-problem
or a problem of the security-settings in our domain.
With kind regards,
Thomas Bauer

Hi Colin,
the nwznet\ytombaue is a member of Users and Administrators. Because of the
membership in administrators the account has full access for the folder
c:\batch. In Windows I can delete, rename etc. the folder and all of its
contents.
with kind regards,
Thomas Bauer
PS: VORDEFINIERT equals BUILT-IN and NT-AUTORITAT equals NT-AUTHORITY

Ok. My German isn't what it used to be :). Anyhow, according to
your log file there isn't any entry in the directory ACL that allows
nwznet\ytombaue access to this path. The entries it found were for:
VORDEFINIERT\Users
VORDEFINIERT\Administrators
\ERSTELLER-BESITZER
NT-AUTORITAT\SYSTEM
These are all local groups or users, which would explain why it never
found an entry for nwznet\ytombaue. This leads to:
1/19 18:46:36 (29.0) (776): DoDownload: Permission denied to write file
C:\BATCH\fort.19!
Am I missing something?
Colin
