Re: [HTCondor-users] Trying to understand quotas and especially hierarchical groups

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for assisting.

When you say âgroup (hierarchical) weightsâ do you mean with the first configuration (including the subgroups in GROUP_NAMES) or the second one?

What does
 condor_userprio -grouprollup -quota {-hierarchical}
say for your current group weights - I think, that should "flatten" sub-groups together

This is what it looks like for configuration 2 (no subgroups in GROUP_NAMES)

$ condor_userprio -hierarchical -quota

Thatâs another thing I forgot to mention : âWeighted Requestedâ is not documented in the man page or documentation; it appears to be the total number of slots worth of jobs for that group that are either currently running or sitting waiting in the queue.  I also donât know how to have it tell me what the effective usage is, to compare to the effective quota, so I know what the âstarvation orderâ of the scheduler should be and can check that thatâs what it is really doing.
