Hi Michael:

If it is easy for you to get an arbitrary docker container image on that machine, or move the file to a machine you can load a docker image onto, one solution might be to launch condor_history  from a docker container with newer version of the condor tools in them against a bind-mounted directory with the history files in it.  No need to install the new condor or mutate any current state.
