Re: [HTCondor-users] Important notice regarding HTCondor-CE 23.9

Hello Andreas,

Depending on the age of your HTCondor-CE installation, you may not have the necessary script installed. We have corrected this issue in the most recent releases.

To fix your problem, just install the 'condor-upgrade-checks' RPM with the 'yum install condor-upgrade-checks'

My apologies for the inconvenience.

We plan to release to HTCondor-CE 23.9 on August 8th.

When upgrading to 23.9, an important issue needs to be considered,
which may require manual configuration changes.
- The job router will only accept the new job route syntax by default
- The advantages are:
ÂÂ - Routes are evaluated in the specified order
ÂÂ - Can use variables that are not included in the resultant job ad
ÂÂ - Can use simple case-like logic
ÂÂ - Can apply job transforms before and/or after job routing
- Scripts to assist conversion are available
- The old syntax will be removed in HTCondor-CE 24
- condor_ce_upgrade_check script let one know if this is an issue
At least this one is giving me an error. Is this a known issue?

[gordo-vm36] /root # /usr/bin/condor_ce_upgrade_check
/usr/bin/condor_ce_upgrade_check: line 5: exec: condor_upgrade_check: not found
[gordo-vm36] /root # rpm -qf /usr/bin/condor_ce_upgrade_check
htcondor-ce-client-23.0.13-1.el9.noarch
[gordo-vm36] /root # rpm -q condor
condor-23.0.12-1.el9.x86_64

Cheers,
Andreas
