Hi Chris,
have you tried, if the connection works in principle (telnet'ing on the shared port)? 

Ad hoc I wonder, why the daemon starts with the shared port as usual on 9618
  [2001:630:58:1c20::82f6:2d01]:9618
but then seems to try actually connecting on port '0'
  [2001:630:58:1c20::82f6:2d01]:0
