[HTCondor-users] downgrade gotchas? (jobname contains illegal characters)

I updated the CM/submit node last night and now we're getting:

> "05/01/19 09:24:42 ERROR: runall.dag (line 8): JobName 1.abinitio
> contains one or more illegal characters ('+', '.')"

We're not fixing this right now, so has anyone tried downgrading back
to 8.6 from 8.8? Any known gotchas? (Centos 7, htcondor repo.)

Or is there a knob to allow '.' in a job name?
