I don't know if we heard back from the program's author yet.

This sort of thing is not so uncommon, e.g. if you try to run old
Windows programs, chances are you can't install because the installer
will get integer overflow checking for available disk space: modern
drives are too big. Can't install in the negative amount of free space...
