Ah perfect. The startd servers indeed have static IPs/hostnames.
I can work this out by defining some custom manged file in the condor config.d directory...

Frederic,
If the nodes have static IP addresses/hostnames, you can add them to
the DENY_WRITE setting on your collector and that will prevent them
from joining the pool.
