- Subject: [HTCondor-users] Can rooster wake up machines manually set to sleep?
Dear HTCondor experts,
I am trying to get a Condor cluster of Windows machines running smoothly
with power saving, but I find it hard to understand the details of
HTCondor's possibilities.
My problem is that our users typically send their machines to
hibernate/switch them off manually in the evenings. This means we do not
use Condor to hibernate machines.
Is there any way condor_rooster can still wake them up when needed? I
have understood I need to configure offline ClassAds first of all. But
how can I make sure such a ClassAd is stored when the machine is
hibernated externally (not with Condor)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the acceptance of Condor in our
department suffers as long as I cannot present a reasonable power
concept. Alternative approaches would also be helpful!
Thanks is advance,
Jens
