You can use format arguments. For example:

[514 bcotton@condor-fe00 ~ ]$ condor_status
slot1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -format "%s\n" State
Owner
[515 bcotton@condor-fe00 ~ ]$
