I think I'll try experimenting with library versions first like Erik
suggested, so the library libclassad.so.1 was missing, libclassad0
provides only 0 (I guess you meant ln -s libclassad_ns.so.0
libclassad_ns.so.1)?

I would have expected to see different kind of error messages....?

However, from the first difficulty I'll apt-get --purge remove condor
and go with tgz ;-)!
