Re: [Condor-users] which variant of Condor 7.4.3?

The rpm's that don't have the "dynamic" in their name
have the statically linked binaries, so that they are not
dependent on the glibc that is on the system, for instance.
They are much bigger in size.

Also note there is a new rpm format in addition to that, which
is in parallel for the 7.4 series but i understand is the default
in 7.5 and higher, that puts the condor stuff in /usr/bin and /usr/sbin
rather than in /opt like the old rpms did.

Hi all,

Does any one know what's the difference between all the different versions of rpms available for download for the same release? e.g. condor-7.4.3-1.rhel5.x86_64.rpm and condor-7.4.3-linux-x86_64-rhel5-1.x86_64.rpm? I use to use the dynamically linked one e.g. condor-7.4.3-linux-x86_64-rhel5-dynamic-1.x86_64.rpm but wondering what the other version are used for.

Cheers,
