Anyway, when you installed either of them, there is no need to run condor_configure or condor_install and it might break if you try to run it. You can directly edit /etc/condor/condor_config (or condor_config.local) after you install these packages.
nope always get that error, I can run the condor_install and point the various paths, and it will pause while installing, but then it alwas crashes out looking for the condor_config.local in the var/lib/condor_config.local folder.
I don't see what is telling it to look for it here, the main condor_config file points to its correct location?
You can try to download or 7.5.2. So untar it with tar zxvf and then go in the directory and type ./condor_configure --install --local-dir=.... --type=.....
So go in the created folder and type ./condor_configure --install --local-dir=.... --type=..... The installation will prompt you what you have to do for configure condor.
After you have installed it remove the previous version installed with synaptic: sudo apt-get remove condor
Up untill now I have used Apt-get to install condor in linux. But have found with this using unbunta that once it is installed the condor_install and condor_configure don't work and complaine about folders not existing.
So I thought I would try downloading the package unpacking it and using condor_install -path....... -type=..... ect
but then I get the error message "condor is not installed used apt-get"
What methods do other people use to install condor on to there systems. I wanted to use the scripts to set up what type of machine install I was doing. Maser, submiter or excuture. And have more control over where it is installed to.
Has any one else installed on unbunta and had any issues with it running?
Cheers
Aaron
