Hey Mike:
What load_profile does is create a temporary profile for the slot users on the execute node, so that software that requires registry access can run. It does not, at this moment--as far as I know--work in conjunction with run_as_user, which means Condor will create and destroy the profile on the execute machine. The profile is destroyed so that one job can't pollute the environment of the next.
