[Condor-users] How to produce compressed checkpoint in condor?

Hi,
 By googling a little, I have got a rough idea that if instructed, Condor can produce compressed checkpoint file. Does anyone know,
how to instruct condor by sending a checkpoint signal (something like kill -XXX or something? )to produce compressed checkpoint? And
does it involve any more disk i/o than just writing the compressed file once?

Does any of you have any idea about this issue? Thanks in advance.
