[Condor-users] condor_master.pid question

If LOCAL_DIR is set to /var/lib/condor/somedir/$(HOSTNAME)

Why would condor try to open /var/lib/condor/condor_master.pid ?

I can't find anywhere in my config that is pointing to /var/lib/condor anymore and yet condor is trying to find this file there.  Is it  hard coded or am I missing something?
