- Subject: [Condor-users] set MAX_JOBS_RUNNING as normal user
Hi
Is it possible to set configuration variables e.g.
MAX_JOBS_RUNNING as a normal user? I tried the example
given in the 'condor_config_val' man-page:
condor_config_val -name perdita -schedd -set
"MAX_JOBS_RUNNING = 10"
That however results in a failure (I replaced
'perdita' with my own machine's name of course).
The problem is that with a lot of concurrent running
jobs there are also many shadow processes. And these
eventually eat up a large amount of memory. At least
it's so much that it's noticable when I'm doing other
stuff.
So, can I do configuration stuff as a
non-administrator anyway? Or are there are other
solutions to reduce the load a bit?
Cheers,
Philipp
