- Subject: [Condor-users] Matlab under Condor - wierd runtime error
OK this is a bit OT but given the number of Matlab users who
are doing stuff under Condor it seemed the most appropriate
place ...
I have a compiled Matlab app which I want to run on our Condor
pool. It works fine on the desktop but when I run it under Condor
using Win XP it falls over after a few minutes (should run for at
least 15) and the log file reports:
005 (142617.000.000) 11/16 06:46:47 Job terminated.
(1) Normal termination (return value 143)
If I look in the stderr file I see:
Could not create directory: 'C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\MathWorks\MAT
LAB\mcr_v76\GibsonBruck_B8DA8A35EBE27D37361C1E5CFEADDF2C'
Since Condor jobs cannot write files under C:\Documents and Settings\ this looks like
the reason the job is failing. But the $64,000 question is why is Matlab trying to
write this file - is it because of a run time error ? Also what does the return
value 143 signify.
Has anyone else seen this at all ? I've raised it with Mathworks as well.
cheers,
-ian.
