Okay, so the condor_startd is having no
trouble talking to your central collector through the firewall. Sounds like it’s
just the condor_starter processes that can’t get through the firewall.
These processes are spawned by the condor_startd when a job is run on the
machine.

Can you “see” the machine in
condor_status? What happens if you do:

condor_status <hostname>

Or:

condor_status -direct <hostname>

Where <hostname> should be replaced
by the name of the machine.

I have condor version 6.6.10.
Yes I restarted Condor after I added
condor processes in the Exception list.
May be once in a month this machine
 turned off and on.

Is condor_starter not a child of
condor_startd? I think I was told that this therefore inherits the rights

What version of Condor? Recent versions
should be able to handle this for you.

Did you restart condor on that node after
opening firewall?

Is the machine regularly turned off and
on?

Read carefully: condor_starter.exe -- NOT
condor_startd.exe

I already added that (condor_startd.exe),
I added all the condor process (three processes master, schedd, startd) in the
exception list.

This is a guess on my part but for
execution nodes you’ll also want to add condor_starter.exe to the
exceptions lists.

Hi,
I am having some problem with Windows XP Firewall in the
condor execution node.
If the Windows Firewall is “Off” then the jobs
are running fine, suppose if it is “On” and even though if I
specify to allow condor_master.exe, condor_schedd.exe, condor_startd.exe under
the Exception Tab. Still the jobs are not running. Could you please let me know
how to get rid of this problem.
Thanks,
Senthil
